Mother of chief of staff to Bill Clinton, Podesta, Dies at 89
MARY K. PODESTA 1918-2007
The daughter of Greek immigrants, Mary K. Podesta knew how to cook a mean
spanakopita. She married an Italian, so she knew her pastas and sauces, too.
But besides knowing food, Mrs. Podesta knew politics. She paid attention to
the news, was a poll-watcher on election days in Chicago and raised two
politically active sons — one of whom grew up to become President Bill
Clintons chief of staff.
Mrs. Podesta, known to many of the nations Democratic elite as Mama
Podesta, died Friday in Washington from chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease. She was 88.
She had two sons, but she adopted another 25 people during the time she
came to Washington, said her older son, Tony Podesta, a Washington public
Lobbyist Tony Podesta and his wife, Heather, bought this eight-bedroom, seven-bath house in Kalorama for $3.9 million. The house has a pool and 12-zone stereo. Podesta, brother of former Clinton White House chief of staff John Podesta, heads DC’s Podesta Group. Photograph by David Pipkin.
In DC: Journalist David Brock and restaurateur/art dealer James Alefantis bought a six-bedroom Federal-style rowhouse on California Street in Kalorama for $1.75 million. The house has a second-floor reception hall and three fireplaces. Once a right-wing journalist, Brock changed his politics in the 1990s. He’s the founder of Media Matters for America, a liberal watchdog group, and author of several books, including Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative. Alefantis co-owns DC’s Buck’s Fishing & Camping restaurant and the Strand on Volta, a Georgetown art gallery.

A detective who spent three years looking for Madeleine McCann says he believes she is 'hidden in plain sight' and could still be on the Algarve.
Former Detective Inspector Dave Edgar, 60, is convinced Kate and Gerry McCann were not involved and said the disappearance was intricately planned by a gang of paedophiles.
The Washington Post today announced that John Podesta will join the Opinion section as a contributing columnist. Podesta, former chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, will provide commentary and analysis on the intersection of politics and policy, the Trump administration and the future of the Democratic Party.
SNEAK: Podesta Group Retroactively Files DOJ Paperwork for ‘Pro-Putin Lobbying’
Washington Examiner reports:
The Podesta Group belatedly filed severalnew disclosures with the Justice Department on Aug. 17 related to work the firm completed between 2012 and 2014 on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank.
Back in April, the powerful Washington lobbying firm run by Clinton ally Tony Podesta filed a document admitting its work for the pro-Russia European Centre for a Modern Ukraine may have principally benefited a foreign government. New disclosuresrevealed dozens of previously unreported interactions the firm made with influential government offices, including Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the office of former Vice President Joe Biden, while lobbying on behalf of the center. Embattled ex-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort failed to disclose his extensive lobbying efforts on behalf of the center at the time as well.
While CNN continues to push the Russian interference narrative, WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange may be ready to push a narrative of his own, and it will be devastating to the very fake news network. In a major development, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told Rep. Dana Rohrabacher that he is ready to provide information proving Russia did not hack the Democratic National Committee.
As Podesta explains it, with a Greek mother and Italian father, speaking your mind was a core value of his childhood. “We were a blue-collar Chicago family,” he said. “The kitchen table was not a model of decorum. It was all right to yell.”
His heritage, he once told an interviewer, also explains his hot temper and accounts for the occasional appearance of Skippy, his sarcastic and ill-humored alter ego.

Roger Stone recently testified before the House Intelligence Committee. During the testimony, Stone denied any involvement with Russia during the 2016 presidential election and accused the House panel investigating of making “irresponsible” and “probably false statements.”
Hours after Stone’s testimony, Hillary Clinton’s former disgraced campaign chair, John Podesta, took to Twitter in what appeared to be an attack on Roger Stone.
Here is the tweet:
@RogerJStoneJr: lying on TV carries no consequence, lying to House investigators is a crime https://t.co/g9IendorAq

And Stone immediately made Podesta regret his tweet. Check this out:
